Petralon Energy

The brand where people stand in front of it

The address plaque — the first thing anyone reads, and the piece most often treated as an afterthought.

The challenge

Most workplace signage is bought, not designed. It arrives from three suppliers in four typefaces and tells everyone who walks in exactly how much care the organisation takes.

A working building needs a lot of signs: fire action notices, extinguisher and blanket markers, first aider and fire marshal boards, electrical notices, exit routes, and the address itself. Each one is usually ordered separately, off a catalogue, to satisfy a requirement.

The result is a building that reads as assembled rather than considered — which is a strange message for a company whose business is infrastructure.

02

What we did

  1. Treated the whole building as one systemEvery sign specified together — statutory, wayfinding and identity — so the fire notice and the address plaque belong to the same family instead of arguing with each other.
  2. Kept the statutory signs compliant, not compromisedSafety signage has rules about colour and symbol for good reason. The design works inside them rather than prettifying them into something a person cannot read in an emergency.
  3. Specified for fabrication and installationReal materials at real dimensions — acrylic with standoff fixings, mounted at consistent heights. Specification is what separates a designed sign from a printed one.

Installation

Mounted, not stuck on.

Every sign levelled and set at a consistent height. Specification is the difference between a designed sign and a printed one, and installation is where that specification either holds or quietly falls apart.

We stayed through the install rather than emailing artwork and hoping.

03

The outcome

A building that reads as one thing from the plaque at the door to the notice by the fire blanket. We have not put a number on this page — signage does not produce a conversion rate, and the honest measure is whether a visitor can find their way and a staff member can act in an emergency. Both are true here.

Tell us what you are building.

Branding, websites, eCommerce, AI agents, automation, explainer videos — if branding and design can solve it, we can do it. Say what you need and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right hands for it.
