Is your website visible to AI search?

Twelve checks, ten minutes, and a real score on the screen — not behind a form. Find out whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Google’s AI Overview can find, read and quote your site.

A GEO audit checks whether generative engines can use your website. Traditional SEO asks whether you rank in Google’s ten blue links. GEO — generative engine optimisation — asks whether an AI assistant names you when a buyer asks for a recommendation in your category. A buyer who asks “who should I use for this?” never sees a results page. They see one answer with two or three names in it.

About GEO and this audit

What it measures, and what it does not.

01What is a GEO audit?

A GEO audit checks whether AI search engines can find, read and quote your website. Traditional SEO asks whether you rank in Google's ten blue links. GEO — generative engine optimisation — asks whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google's AI Overview and Claude cite you when someone asks for a recommendation in your category.

02How is GEO different from SEO?

SEO optimises for ranking; GEO optimises for being quoted. They overlap on fundamentals like crawlability and structure, but diverge on what wins. SEO rewards keyword coverage and backlinks. GEO rewards extractable structure, grounded specifics and clear attribution — because the engine is assembling an answer, not a list.

03Why does being cited by AI matter for a Commerce brand?

A buyer who asks an assistant "who should I use for branding in Lagos?" never sees a results page. They see one answer with two or three names in it. If you are not one of them, you were not in the running — regardless of where you rank in Google.

04Is this audit accurate?

It is a self-assessment against twelve factors that demonstrably affect whether generative engines can use your content. It is not a crawl of your site, so it is only as honest as your answers. It is designed to show you what to fix, not to sell you a number.

05What do I do with a low score?

Start with the checks you failed that cost nothing: llms.txt, robots.txt rules, canonical tags and a sitemap are an afternoon's work. Schema and answer-first rewriting take longer but move the needle most. The fix for every check is listed with the check itself.
